Roundup at the State Corral: A Wild First Season
The dust has settled on our first-ever Vex season, and our four teams rode back from the State Championship with plenty of stories to tell. It wasn’t all easy riding—we faced some tough trails and even a robot that decided to buck the queueing table—but our students stayed in the saddle and showed true grit.
Here is how the leaderboard looked at the end of the showdown:
The Stallions & Colts: Both earned Judges Awards for their top-notch preparation, professional interviews, engineering notebook documentation, and perseverance.
The Chargers: These trail blazers took home the Sportsmanship Award for showing the most heart in the arena.
The Broncos: Led the pack in the middle school division, proving a simple claw bot and a steady hand can land you a Top 5 Finish.
In addition: Our recreational riders (Team SAT) roped in a massive win on the global stage, taking 3rd Place Worldwide in the Online Recycling Game Challenge! They were recognized for the incredible creativity and dedication that makes our whole ranch proud.
A Tip of the Hat
We wouldn’t have made it out of the gate without our incredible support system. A massive thank you to our parents, mentors, and coaches for their tireless dedication.
We also want to extend a special "thank you" to our Administration. Their generous funding provided the robots and the means for us to compete, turning a dream into a rewarding reality for these kids. It's been a legendary first season!
