MS Robotics Teams Win Awards
Daniel J. (‘33), Siddharth G. (‘33), and Henrik K. (‘33) proudly hold their awards!
On December 6, 2025, two of the new Middle School robotics teams, the Colts and the Chargers, competed at the Sacred Heart/Southland VIQRC Competition. These two teams competed as part of the new Breck Robotics Middle School VEX IQ program.
Out of 24 teams at the competition, the Colts won 2nd place in robot skills and got the design award, qualifying them to the event region championship in March. The Chargers won the sportsmanship award. It was truly amazing to see both teams perform so well at the first-ever VEX competition with Breck teams!
Every year, the VEX IQ robotics competition releases a new game for elementary and middle school-aged teams to play by designing, programming, and testing a robot. This year, the challenge was to stack color-coded cylindrical pins and horizontal beams into different configurations to score points. The teams earn more points by stacking more and making more complex stacks. Starting in mid-September, around 20 Breck Middle Schoolers began exploring and designing their robot. Now, in the last couple of weeks, they’ve been hard at work perfecting their design and practicing their driving. Later, the rest of the Breck teams will compete in a February 7th tournament hosted at Breck.
